Little boy blue
Hanging over the moon
The sky is a meadow
The stars are dew
Where is the boy?
He¡¯s floating in dreams
In nights he shines
In days he beams
Little boy blue
Wake not soon!
Life is a dream
Yet not sweet as you
What have you seen?
What have you learned?
Mommy is tender
A tender heart is earned
Little boy blue
Come blow your horn
The world is before you
The future is new
Where will you go?
Where will you land?
The journey is long
The joy is grand

Saw Liao Kang wrote about his son, and it made me want to write a children's poem for my boys, especially after seeing them in sweet sleep tonight. :)

Like this one, clean and simple,
...remind me of El Dorado.

I like it.

Little boy blue
Wake not soon!
Life is a dream
Yet not sweet as you

got to ask this before I forget -
xw, why this poem remind you of El Dorado? do you see shinning gold and fortune in it? - Re: Little Boy Blueposted on 07/26/2005
I mean the rhythm of Allan Poe's El Dorado.

The title of Poe's poem is Eldorado.
El Dorado was a ruler in the legend in the time when the Spanish occupied South America, it was said he was covered with golden powder over his body and thus became a symbol for fortune.
Though I think what Poe wrote about was also this same legendary ruler, or the ruler's land. Not sure why the name conventions are different. Maybe doesn't matter in Spanish?
BTW, I love the music of Poe's poetry! - posted on 07/26/2005
